Rusk County Groundwater Conservation District

MISSION STATEMENT

The Rusk County Groundwater Conservation District's mission is to develop and implement an efficient, economical and environmentally sound groundwater management program to protect and sustain the groundwater resources of the District.
The District recognizes that the groundwater resources of the region are of vital importance. The preservation of this most valuable resource can be managed in a prudent and cost effective manner through education and cooperation. The greatest threat to prevent the District from achieving the stated mission is inappropriate management, based on a lack of understanding of local conditions.

$$$ TAX RATE REDUCED AGAIN $$$

Based on our creation legislation we are authorized $0.0050 / $100.00 of assessed taxable evaluation. In 2006 the board reduced this rate to $0.0048 and again in 2007 it was reduced to $0.0047. At a Public Hearing on Monday September 8 the Board of Directors adopted a resolution to reduce the effective tax rate from $0.0047 to $0.0044 of assessed taxable evaluation. This is the third year in a row the Rusk County Groundwater Conservation District has voted to reduce its effective tax rate.
