The Rusk County Groundwater Conservation District conserves, preserves, and protects the groundwater resources of Rusk County. Our educational and water conservation programs aim to support all of Rusk County in best managing our groundwater resources.
The District is also part of GMA-11, a groundwater management area created by the State of Texas. GMA-11, along with 16 other GMAs in the state, holds joint meetings to comply with the Texas Water Code.

The District monitors precipitation throughout Rusk County to provide monthly precipitation data and drought monitoring.

The District performs downhole well inspections to confirm the aquifer source of a well, prevent comingling of different water qualities, and monitor conditions of the aquifers.
